The term DJ has evolved considerably over time. Originally regarded as simply playing records on radio, DJs are now recognised artists/musicians and often superstars. DJs regularly influence new trends and techniques and are at the forefront of contemporary culture.
As with any activity or discipline, being a talented DJ requires considerable skill and knowledge. Respected DJs are masters at techniques like beat and level matching, cross-fading, equalisation and scratching.
This 8-week programme deals with all the techniques and skills required to get you comprehensively started as a DJ, or to further hone your existing skills and knowledge. You will use the music you love with hardware and software like Technics turntables with Stanton cartridges, Pioneer CDJs and mixers, Ableton Live and Tractor Scratch.
The DDJ curriculum is aimed at DJs, musicians and music lovers who enjoy experimenting with cutting edge technology and many genres of music. The DDJ is accessible to anyone 16 years or older, and no prior experience or personal equipment is required.
